At the annual picnic concert in the courtyard of Qvidja Castle on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 4:00 PM, the renowned violinist duo Minna Pensola – Antti Tikkanen will perform. As extremely versatile and skilled musicians, the duo excels in both serious and lighter music. The key works of the concert include Ottorino Respighi’s romantic chamber music piece for voice and strings, ‘Il Tramonto’, as well as Duo Tiksola’s own arrangement of Niccolò Paganini’s 24 Caprices condensed into 10 minutes.
he program is complemented by a more entertaining Italian repertoire, including accordionist Niko Kumpuvaara’s arrangements of Neapolitan songs, Italian hits, and folk songs. In addition to Niko, the concert lineup includes violist Hanna Hohti, cellist Markus Hohti, and bassist Ville Herrala. In addition to Duo Tiksola, Qvidja Events’ artistic director, mezzo-soprano Essi Luttinen, performs as a soloist in the concert.
