At the opening concert on Friday, we will hear works by 19th-century female composers: Mel Bonis offers a woodland stroll, while Laura Netzel brings romance and deep emotions. On the other side, magician Toomas Pitkänen blends his magic with Errolyn Wallen’s playful music. The evening culminates with Darius Milhaud’s lively wind quintet, which mellows out with the tones of the Nocturne.
