The guided videotour
This video introduces Parainen and the important bridge connections leading there, as well as their significance, especially for industry. The video describes three main bridges, their history and renewal, and explains, among other things, the development of the Kirjalansalmi bridge from pontoon solutions during World War II to the modern bridge of today.
In addition, the video presents the local economy of Parainen, particularly the limestone and cement industries and their importance to the region. The viewer is also given an overview of the Turku archipelago, including its division into inner, middle, and outer zones, along with descriptions of their distinctive landscapes.
The video then moves towards the center of Parainen, while also describing the area’s services, living environment, and bilingual culture. Overall, the video serves as a guided introduction to Parainen, its history, landscapes, and present-day life.
The Archipelago Story Trail is a video-guided tour created along the Archipelago Trail, where archipelago guide Magnus Sundman shares stories and the history of the area. Along the route, there are 21 signs equipped with QR codes, allowing visitors to open the guide on their own phones. The stories can be listened to in any order, either by spotting the QR codes along the route or directly via the website.
