The archipelago connecting vessels operate year-round

Even during autumn, winter, and spring, you can make day visits to some of the archipelago’s smaller islands! Below you can find some suggested destinations where the free-of-charge connecting vessel operates back and forth traffic in one day, on certain weekdays.

What islands can you go for a daytrip to?

Brännskär

Brännskär is a gem in the Nagu archipelago, offering a relaxing and scenic experience with a strong connection to local culture and sustainability. It’s a perfect destination for those who want to enjoy the natural beauty of the archipelago and its tranquil atmosphere. On Brännskär, there are also options for kayak rentals and overnight stays in year-round cabins.
Departing with m/s Falkö from Kirjais Eastern Point, Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:30 AM, with a return in the afternoon by around 5 PM (the schedule varies depending on the ports the vessel visits before returning to Brännskär). Please note that trips must be booked in advance, no later than 9 AM on the same day, via the booking system.

Nötö

Nötö is an idyllic island in the archipelago that offers a rich blend of nature, culture, and traditions. It’s a perfect place for those seeking relaxation, natural beauty, and an authentic archipelago experience. Visitors are encouraged to respect nature and contribute to the preservation of the island’s unique environment. Nötö has a long history dating back to the Middle Ages, with historical buildings and remains that tell the island’s past, including Nötö Church, which is a central point on the island. In addition to birdwatching and hiking, there are opportunities for fishing and paddling (which should be pre-booked). The island has several trails that make it easy to explore its various parts.

Depart with m/s Utö from Pärnäs Harbor in western Nagu. The ferry departs on Mondays at 8:30 AM and returns to Pärnäs at 5:45 PM, and on Wednesdays at 11:10 AM, returning at 8:30 PM. Trips should be booked in advance via the booking system.

Aspö

Aspö offers a combination of culture, history, nature, and community that provides an authentic and memorable archipelago experience. The island has a guest harbor, a wood-fired sauna, fish sales, and a café-shop (in summer), as well as a nature trail. Aspö is also known for its accordion tradition.

Själö

Själö is known for its leper and mental hospital, with a history dating back to the 17th century, the old wooden church, and the island’s scenic surroundings. The island also offers beautiful hiking trails through forests and along the shore, as well as opportunities to observe the rich birdlife and other nature experiences. Själö is a perfect destination for both history enthusiasts and nature lovers. Overnight stays are available on the island year-round, if desired.
m/s Innamo departs from the guest harbor in Nagu. Day trip schedule:
Tuesdays depart at 8:20 AM, return at 3:55 PM.
Wednesdays depart at 1:00 PM, back in Nagu at 6:30 PM.
These trips must be booked no later than the previous day via the booking system.
