The works on today’s programme deal with both – it’s wishful thinking to have a Russian and a Ukrainian composer on the same programme in some places, and the tranquillity of Silvestrov and Kurtág reaches the unimaginable. The Gringolts Quartet appears at the Turku Music Festival at last! This concert is one of those originally planned for the 2020 Festival by Klaus Mäkelä (artistic director 2018–2022).
