Kalliokumpu Eco Lodge is a family-run, premium boutique lodge located in the peaceful Finnish archipelago on the island of Vartsala, in Kustavi.
Designed as a small and carefully curated retreat, the lodge combines nature, Nordic hospitality and slow travel into an intimate archipelago experience. Guests stay in a limited collection of high-end glamping lodges and a traditional off-grid cabin, surrounded by forest, sea and silence.
Kalliokumpu is not a traditional hotel, but a shared and personal experience shaped by the rhythm of island life. Guests gather around one table, where meals are prepared on-site and served in a calm, communal atmosphere inspired by the traditions of the Finnish archipelago.
Our culinary philosophy follows a forest & sea to table approach, using seasonal ingredients from the surrounding nature and local producers. The Nordic Archipelago Chef’s Table, island breakfasts and open-fire cooking experiences are an essential part of the stay.
Wellbeing at Kalliokumpu is deeply connected to nature. Our Forest SPA experience includes a wood-fired Finnish sauna, outdoor hot tub, herbal rituals and relaxing treatments in the SPA tipi, creating a quiet space for rest and reconnection.
Curated outdoor experiences allow guests to explore the archipelago more deeply — from kayaking and foraging to noctourism experiences under one of Europe’s darkest night skies.
