Now, in celebration of his 80th birthday, this giant of Finnish music invites you to a concert where you can enjoy music and life exactly as he experiences it: with a big heart, a twinkle in his eye and a deep respect for every kind of song.

Salminen is known the world over as the dark, imposing bass of opera, but his story began with the tango. This concert is a journey through the decades, laced with love and humour – an evening where tango meets opera, song meets life and music connects everything.

The evening will be led by an ensemble of friends of Matti Salminen, led by Riku Niemi. Salminen himself opens the doors to moments involving grand stages, stirring performances – and, of course, hilarious coincidences. The evening will be full of memories, music and, above all, a genuine presence and love of song.
