The Archipelago Story Trail

The Archipelago Trail is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and in honor of the occasion, the Stories of the Archipelago Trail video guide has been created!
Stories of the Archipelago Trail takes you into the heart of the archipelago along the Archipelago Trail — one step and one story at a time. It is a video guide in which archipelago guide Magnus Sundman shares stories and history from the region. Along the route, you will find signs equipped with QR codes that allow you to open the guide on your own phone. You can listen to the stories in any order you like, either by spotting QR codes along the route or directly from the website, wherever you are.
Each story opens a door to the archipelago’s unique world: its ruggedly beautiful nature, resilient island life, and places whose history runs deeper than the surface. Here, the sea is not just a landscape — it is a way of life that has shaped people, culture, and everyday life for generations. At many destinations, you can also join guided tours and deepen your experience with the help of a local guide. During the tours, you will hear stories about life, survival, and the close connection between people and nature.

The Archipelago Trail can be travelled in its entirety from May 8 to September 13, 2026, but the archipelago and its stories can be experienced 365 days a year.
