In Finland, we’re lucky to enjoy one of the world’s most unique freedoms - Everyman’s Rights. This means everyone can experience nature freely, as long as it’s done with respect and care. Whether you`re planning a weekend hike or pitching your tent under the northern sky, here’s what you need to know to enjoy Finland’s great outdoors the right way.
✅ What you can do under Everyman’s Rights
Finland’s nature is open to all, but there are still some guidelines to follow. Here`s what’s allowed:
🥾 Walk, hike, ski, or cycle in forests, fields, and uncultivated natural areas.
🏕️ Camp temporarily (typically 1–2 nights) in places where public access is permitted.
🫐 Pick wild berries, mushrooms, and flowers — as long as they aren’t protected species.
🎣 Swim, fish with a simple rod, and move around freely on the sea.
❌ What you can’t do
With great freedom comes great responsibility. These actions are not allowed under Everyman’s Rights:
⛺️ Camp on private property or enter yards, gardens, or cultivated land.
🌲 Cut down trees, damage vegetation, or remove branches.
🗑️ Leave any litter — always take home everything you bring with you.
🦆 Disturb wildlife, especially during nesting seasons. Using lures or nets for fishing requires a license.
Setting up your tent in nature? Here are a few quick tips for a comfortable and responsible stay:
1. Pick a flat, dry area with minimal impact on the surrounding environment.
2. Clear away rocks, branches, and pinecones — your back will thank you!
3. Aim for a scenic spot where you can wake up to a peaceful view of the forest or sea.
Let’s enjoy the Finnish outdoors, and protect it for generations to come.

Midsummer, one of the most magical times of the year, is finally here!
In Finland, Midsummer isn’t just a holiday, it’s a feeling. It’s the nightless night when the sun barely dips and the sky glows all evening long.
There are endless things to see and experience, like bonfires, saunas, and dancing around the midsummer pole. This weekend is all about life and laughter shared with the people who matter most. ❤️
Once again, it`s time to create unforgettable memories. Happy Midsummer from the city of Pargas!

Midsummer is calling! Ready to raise the pole and dance into summer? 🌿
In Finland, Midsummer (midsommar in Swedish and juhannus in Finnish) is pure magic with bonfires, midnight sun, wildflowers, and one very iconic tradition: the Midsummer pole.
Want to make your own? It’s easier than you think, and way more fun with friends! Here’s how:
🌳 Build your pole: grab two tall wooden sticks and make a T-shape with a crossbar
🌿 Wrap it in green: Birch branches and leafy greens are your best friends 🌿
💐 Flower it up: Decorate with wildflowers, the more colorful, the better!
🌸Wreath magi: Twist two flower wreaths and hang them from each end
🎉Raise it high: Lift it together in a sunny spot and let the celebration begin!
This isn’t just DIY. It’s tradition, togetherness, and summer joy wrapped into one beautiful moment.

On June 15th, Finland celebrates National Early Potato Day – one of the most beloved signs of summer. 🌿
In the archipelago, potatoes grow close to the sea and are harvested with care. The result? Some of the most flavourful early potatoes in the country. Earthy, fresh, and full of archipelago character.
🥔 The Early Potato Day is all about appreciating this humble but essential ingredient in Finnish food culture.
So let’s gather around the table and enjoy the season’s first golden treasures. Nothing says “Finnish summer” quite like early potatoes. Local, tender, and full of flavour.
Would you try a farm-to-fork experience like this? 🫶🏼
